Gov. Abubakar Sani Bello sympathizes with victims and families of Lapai tanker explosion


Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, has sympathized with the victims and family members of those affected in a tanker explosion that occurred on the Lapai-Agaie-Bida Road in the early hours of today which led to loss of lives, burning of vehicles, and injury to several people.

The explosion was said to have occurred in a gridlock occasioned by the deplorable condition of the federal government-owned road.

 About seven trucks were said to have been affected in the explosion including the petrol tanker.

The governor in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Mary Noel-Berje, noted that the incident is a moment of mourning to the victims’ family members, people of Lapai Local Government and the entire people of the state.

He prayed for the quick recovery of those injured, just as he also prayed Allah to grant those who lost their lives in the explosion Aljannah Firdausi as well give their families the fortitude to bear the painful deaths.

 Gov. Sani Bello assured the people that the state government is not resting on its oars to ensure that the federal government fixes the federal roads in the state, while the state government is also making deliberate efforts to make the state-owned roads motorable.

He enjoined road users especially truck drivers to take caution while driving and to be mindful of the road condition as well as be humane in their conduct on roads.

Meanwhile, the Niger state Government has dispatched and directed officials of relevant agencies to immediately carry out necessary actions that will help cushion the effects and bring succour to the people.
