Gov. Sani Bello: Late Ajimobi was a patriotic, self-less, diligent politician

 Niger state Governor and Chairman, North Central Governors’ Forum, Abubakar Sani Bello, has condoled with the government and people of Oyo state over the death of former governor of the state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.

Gov. Sani Bello, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS) Mary Noel-Berje, said the government and people of Niger state, and indeed the entire North Central Zone, shared with the family of the deceased, Oyo state and the nation at large in this moment of grief.

He said the deceased former governor was a patriotic and committed personality; diligent and selfless politician, having served his state and the nation in different capacities and contributed his quota to the political and economic development of the country.

The governor, however, drew consolation from the fact that late Abiola Ajimobi lived a life worthy of emulation, having left an indelible mark in the sands of time. 

“He was a patriotic and an exemplary leader who impacted so many lives. We have to accept what God has allowed to happen, knowing that death is inevitable to all mortals, Gov. Sani Bello said.

He then prayed Allah to grant the soul of the deceased Aljannah Firdausi, and give his family and the people of his state the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. 

Late Abiola Ajimobi, died on June 25, 2020, at the age of 70, after he tested positive for COVID-19.

He was the immediate past governor of Oyo State who served two terms, and also a one-time managing director at the National Oil and Chemical Marketing Company, a subsidiary of Shell Petroleum Company.
