Mr Victor Aleke, lawmaker representing Ebonyi North-West state constituency in the House of Assembly and whose younger brother was found dead in the trunk of his car has described the death as wicked, barbaric and painful.

Aleke who spoke with Summitnews correspondent on Wednesday in Abakaliki said that the deceased was his only male sibling until his cruel murder by yet to be identified killers.

The lawmaker said that late Samuel, his younger brother was a quiet, gentle and peaceful man adding that there was no time it was reported that he was having problem with anybody and wondered why he was abducted and killed in such horrible manner.

“My slain brother was my only brother, see how wicked people just killed him for no just cause; it’s painful and hard to believe that his family, friends and loved ones will see him no more.

“He was a very peaceful, quiet and easy going young man; I have never known him to have problems with people or authorities, he was killed in cold blood,” Aleke said.

He expressed confidence in the ability of the police to unmask the suspected killers and bring them to justice.

The deceased who was in his late thirties was said to have left his house Saturday, May 23 informing his wife that he was going to collect an earpiece from a friend but was later found dead in his car trunk along Nkwegu axis of the Abakaliki /Afikpo express road.

The deceased, who resides along Chinedu Ogah Avenue, near the St Patrick’s Catholic Church, Kpiri-Kpiri in Abakaliki was said to have sustained wounds on his face and back, suggesting he might have been beaten and strangled to death by his assailants.

Mrs Loveth Odah, Police PPRO Ebonyi State

Mrs Loveth Odah, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in a statement confirmed the incident saying that the deceased’s corpse was recovered by the police along Nkwagu axis of the express road.

She added that investigation has commenced and assured that the killers would be unmasked and brought to justice.
