Dr. Amina Abubakar: Satisfied with state’s Disease Isolation Centre

The First Lady of Niger State Dr. Amina Abubakar Bello, has expressed satisfaction with the facilities at the Disease Isolation Centre of the Minna General Hospital, Minna, the Niger state capital.

Dr. Amina who spoke during her visit to the Centre, said it was necessary for the state to be prepared for any disease outbreak, particularly the global Coronavirus.

She explained that some countries of the world like Switzerland and Italy where the number of infected persons have reached alarming proportions, young people are spreading it without necessarily showing the symptoms.

Dr. Amina noted that people with sickle cell anaemia, pregnant women, diabetics, and the elderly are more vulnerable to the disease, and advised that victims should be quarantined early to stop the spread of the disease.

She admonished Nigerlites to limit their participation in overcrowded environments because they might not know who is carrying the virus.

The Permanent Secretary Dr Joseph Kolo James accompanied her on the tour.
