The dreaded coronavirus disease is gradually taking a foot hold in Nigeria following the confirmation of five new cases on Wednesday by the Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire.
This brings the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the country to eight.
According to the health minister, three of the patients came in from the United States of America, including a Nigerian mother and her child, and two other Nigerians from the United Kingdom.
Reports say the global coronavirus pandemic has hit all the 50 states in the US.
Meanwhile, nobody has died from the disease in Nigeria, and one of the earlier three cases were said to have completely recovered.
The announcement of additional five new cases of coronarirus was made just as the country announced travel restrictions from 13 countries with high coronavirus cases.
The affected countries are; China, Italy, Iran, South Korea, Spain, Japan, France, Germany, United States of America, Norway, United Kingdom, Netherlands & Switzerland.
The travel restriction will commence on March 21.
